I started YoungMerit because I am tired of a system that locks young people out. Growing up in South Africa, I was taught that if I studied and got qualified, a job would follow. Then the opportunities dried up, and now we fight just to be seen.
Experience has become a locked door, and not only here. Businesses are not the villains. One bad hire can cost them weeks they cannot afford, so they play it safe. YoungMerit gives both sides a fair way in: young people get real paid work to prove what they can do, and businesses see that proof before they commit.

Is it free?
Workers can join and apply for tasks for free. Businesses can start on the free plan and pay a flat 2% platform fee when a task is paid.
How do businesses know they can trust a worker?
Every worker can add a CV, verify their ID and earn reviews from finished tasks. You see that record before you choose anyone.
How do workers get paid?
Businesses pay workers directly for each approved task, and both sides confirm the payment on YoungMerit.
When do you launch?
Late 2026 or early 2027. Everyone on the list hears first, starting with Wave 1.
What are waves?
We open access in waves so everyone gets a good start. Wave 1 is the first 1,000 people plus anyone whose link brings in 3 friends.
I am a founding member. Do I need to sign up again?
No. Your spot is saved. Open the personal link we email you and tell us if you are joining as a worker or a business. You will create your password on launch day.
